The Kurma Purana, one of the eighteen Mahapuranas, is a Vaishnavism text in Hinduism from the medieval era. Named after Vishnu's tortoise avatar, this Purana stands out for its diverse discussion of religious concepts. Despite being a Vaishnavism text, Vishnu doesn't solely dominate the content. Instead, the text equally reveres Vishnu, Shiva, and Shakti. Similar to other Puranas, the Kurma Purana narrates legends, mythology, geography, pilgrimage sites, theology, and a philosophical Gita. Noteworthy is the Ishvaragita within it, where Shiva presents ideas akin to those in the Bhagavad Gita.
The book contains verse in sanskrit and explanation in Hindi
