A revised and enlarged edition of the Letters of Sister Nivedita in 2 volumes was collected and edited by Prof. Sankari Prasad Basu. It comprises nearly 900 letters from Sister Nivedita and also includes some received by her. This monumental new edition is to commemorate her 150th Birth Anniversary.
Margaret Elizabeth Noble was a teacher living in London when she first encountered Swami Vivekananda, whose words, "came as living water to men perishing of thirst". A little over two years later, Margaret arrived in Calcutta and was initiated into Brahmacharya by Swami Vivekananda and given the name: Nivedita, the dedicated.
