In the second volume of the Mahabharata for children we saw how the brave and noble Pandavas were tricked by their evil-minded cousins, the Kauravas, and exiled to the forest for twelve years. at the end of that period they were to remain incognito for one year. In this volume we can witness the dramatic events that took place in that one year. when finally the Pandavas came out of their disguise and claimed their share of the Kingdom, the Kauravas would not yield even an inch. Sri Krishna himself went as peacemaker but in vain. Kunti also tried to win to her side her first born, Karna, who was supporting Duryodhana, but failed. A terrible war became inevitable.
This volume takes us to the brink of that great tragedy.
