Surendranand Hans, a self realized yogi
This precious human birth is attained after the transmigration of the soul through innumerable animal bodies. It is the result of the accumulation of positive karma over several births. The only goal of human life is realization of the supreme Truth or liberation. In order to achieve this there is a definite need for a physically manifest liberated Sadguru. One such person is yogi Surndranand Hans who has walked along the traditional path of a succession of gurus who impart spiritual knowledge to their disciples. Thus having received the guru’s grace and achieved enlightenment, yogi Surendranand Hans has establish the ‘Sarvarpana yogashram’.
For spiritual aspirants who feel that amidst the ceaseless struggles of worldly life it is difficult to pursue liberation, Guruji is an example. He has lived a worldly family life successfully and also at the same time attained complete success in his spiritual guest. He is running the ashram in order to help other spiritual seekers achieve success.

Question 1
Aspirant : What is the purpose (secret, goal) of human life?
Guru : Knowing one’s own self.
Question 2
Aspirant : What is the result of knowing one’s own self ?
Guru : To explain with the help of a verse by Sarvajna, “To the one who has realized his own self there is no discrimination as mine and others, all the three worlds exists in my own self sarvajna”. This state is actually that of liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 5, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 3
Aspirant : When it is said “Know thyself”
What should I do to realise my the self?
Guru : One should completely surrender oneself to a self realized guru.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 6, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 4
Aspirant : How to search a self realized guru?
Guru : If a mother is sleeping by her infant she will come to know that the baby is hungry or in pain only when the baby cries. Similarly one must shed tears before God when we really feel the need for knowledge of Truth. He will surely send forth a Guru to you.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 7, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 5
Questioner : I am an atheist who doesn’t believe in God. What will be the future course of my life?
Guru : All people in the world are theists. No one is an atheist. All living beings always desire happiness and joy. No one wants pain or sorrow when no living being wants neither physical nor mental suffering. Who is atheist? If anyone considers oneself an atheist, he / she can be called insane. Joy or bliss is another name of the Supreme Lord. ‘I am bliss’ is the experience emanating from the depths of every great self realized person’s heart.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 8, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 6
Aspirant : As you said, all living beings always want joy but however much one tries, it appears that a human can’t attain ever/asting joy.
Guru : Words like ‘can not’ or ‘impossible’ are signs of cowardice ‘Dheera Stesha na itaresha’ say the divine scriptures. It is only the brave who, (after realizing), that this worldly life of pains and pleasures is only momentary) strive with every resource in their power to ultimately realize the Truth of their real self and existence, thus being able to attain eternal bliss.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 9, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 7
Aspirant : Despite all the guidance from the elders and teachers, the tickle mind doesn’t let us walk on the path of Truth. It repeatedly pulls us towards the worldly life of sense pleasures and becomes the life of sense pleasures and becomes the cause for experiencing thevicissitudes of life and the consequent sorrow. Why is it so?
Guru : Every living being is born as a consequence of the cycle of Karma. Only after the burden of sinful or negative Karmic tendencies accumulated over several lives is exhausted. It becomes possible for one’s mind to turn towards the divine path for this to happen one must devote one’s precious human life only for doing good deeds.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 9, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 8
Aspirant : What is the primary duty of a man whose life is limited only to eating, sleeping, mating and defending, with life long struggle ending only with death?
Guru : There is no other duty than to know one’s true self.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 10, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 9
Aspirant : Laziness takes one towards poverty. What should one do in order to have zeal and enthusiasm towards work:
Guru : One must have some well defined goals in life. A life without a definite goal is like a boat caught up in a storm. Being born as a human being bestowed with all the sense faculties, you must have the ambition and determination to achieve something in life. The necessary strength will automatically come to you. It is only the confidence of succeeding in great achievements that will pull you out of liziness, in fuse you with zeal, enthusiasm and inspire you to be always busy.
Question 10
Aspirant : Is it true that ghosts and ghouls exist in the world?
Guru : The dualistic world is a mixture of both good and bad. There are as many evil forces as are good ones. Humans, whose bodies are made up of the five elements will safely store a collection of knowledge and ignorance in their minds and this depends on their past good or bad deeds. Except for the great people who attain self realization all others, roam around even after the death of their physical bodies as a result of their continued mental attachments, aversions and desires. Though they don’t have physical existence, they exist in a subtle state with the sole purpose of troubling people such beings are known as ghosts or ghouls. It is only the ignorant who fear these beings. The great one who has attained the knowledge of the absolute truth would have realised that ‘Sarvam khalvidam Brahmam’- everything is Brahman and remains ever fearless.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 12, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 11
Aspirant : The saint Sarvagna has said, “By treating others as you would treat yourself, you will attain Kailasa (heavenly abode)” what can be done for such noble attitude to be developed in all?
Guru : Universal love must develop between people.
Aspirant : What should be done?
Guru : One must surrender to universal love. Don’t be surprised that it is a strange suggestion such profound all encompassing love would be found in ample measure among the true disciples in the traditional order of unbroken succession of Guru disciple only when we completely devote ourselves to such a Guru such profound love will develop in us. This is became a Sadguruis love personified. A great saint says, ‘Mujhe ishqse ishq hua hai kya janu kaise aur kab hua hai’ – I have fallen in love with love, I don’t know how and why.
(Yogi Surendranand Hans, January 13, 2016 Sarvarpan Yogashram Dharwad).
Question 12
Aspirant : Why does universal love develop only in a Sadguru? Why not in father – mother, husband – wife, brothers and friends ?
Guru : The word ‘love’ itself is sacred, eternal and ever pure. That is to say, the other name of the Lord supreme is love. That is why they say love is God. The creation of the world is based on love. It may appear in the manifest visible world that there is a difference between nature and creator, individual soul and supreme soul, male and female etc. However, in the unmanifest plane, the absolute, the one without a second is eternal and therefore, though love appears to be divided, it is in essence, only one when the apparently little drop of love merges into the ocean of love, it too is called as an ocean of love, it too is called as an ocean of love. When an individual entity merges into the Lord the creator, the separateness no longer exists. Ultimately, all encompassing love means total devotion and self-surrender. It means completely letting go or losing one’s sense of individual identity. That is why a saint says, ‘Katan identity. That is why a saint says ‘Katan baandhkar Kar 10 aashiqui’ which means, wear a shroud and then love. A Sadguru is one who has completely shed his individual identity and is established in the consciousness that he is merely an inhabitant of an otherwise dead body. There is only love and nothing else that pervades him from within and without. That is why loving a Saduguru is undoubtedly universal love.
