Periya Purana' is the only scripture that Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharpulava read before self-realization in Madurai. This magnificent poem, which contains the biographies of sixty-three Nayanars, devotees of Shiva, left an indelible mark on the young heart of Balarama. Many times in satsangs and on the prayer of the devotees, they describe the stories in this way in a playful way, and in such cases the paravashu stops with emotion, which is a direct proof of their parabhakti.
The current text 'Sri Shivabhakta Vilasam', the Sanskrit form of the Periya Purana, was incorporated into the Skandopa Purana and brought to light again in the world by Bhagavan Ramanu. In both texts, there is no difference in the names of people and places, but there is no difference in the object, characteristic or essence.
